CUPFA stands in solidarity with advocates of racial justice around the world whose courageous commitment to activism expresses rightful outrage, anger, and the rejection of unrelenting decades of systemic racism and inequality. We join other university partners in opposing oppression and violence against Black and Indigenous people, People of Colour, and other fellow citizens routinely marginalized by insidious discrimination. Caring people in local communities and workplaces everywhere must actively insist upon changes that will build real equality of opportunity in employment, education, financial security, housing, and other aspects of a healthy, inclusive society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaders and supporters of this movement continue to reach out with messages that emphasize the key role of education in fostering positive change. CUPFA renews its commitment to fight racism on our campuses, in the academic workplace, and in the wider community we serve. Our universities and colleges must be an active part of the solution by assertively addressing discriminatory attitudes and practices and by leveraging the sensitivity and expertise of faculty, staff, and students to build a safer and more peaceful world with respect and opportunity for all.<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019APTPUC tient \u00e0 exprimer sa solidarit\u00e9 avec les d\u00e9fenseurs de la justice ethnique \u00e0 travers le monde. Leur activisme courageux exprime une indignation et une col\u00e8re juste et l\u00e9gitime, ainsi qu\u2019un rejet de d\u00e9cennies de racisme syst\u00e9mique et d\u2019in\u00e9galit\u00e9. Nous nous joignons \u00e0 d\u2019autres partenaires universitaires dans la lutte contre l\u2019oppression et la violence faite aux minorit\u00e9s visibles, aux communaut\u00e9s autochtones et autres citoyens qui sont r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement marginalis\u00e9s par une discrimination insidieuse.\u00a0 Les citoyens bienveillants dans nos communaut\u00e9s, lieux de travail et partout ailleurs doivent s\u2019impliquer activement et insister sur les changements qui contribueront \u00e0 b\u00e2tir une r\u00e9elle \u00e9galit\u00e9 des chances en mati\u00e8re, entre autre, d\u2019emploi, d\u2019\u00e9ducation, de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re et de logement.\u00a0 Cette approche constitue la base d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 saine et inclusive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les dirigeants et partisans de ce mouvement continuent sans rel\u00e2che \u00e0 \u00e9mettre des messages qui mettent l\u2019accent sur le r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 que joue l\u2019\u00e9ducation dans la mise en \u0153uvre de changements positifs. L\u2019APTPUC renouvelle son engagement dans la lutte contre le racisme sur nos campus, dans le milieu de travail acad\u00e9mique et dans la communaut\u00e9 \u00e9largie que nous desservons. Nos coll\u00e8ges et universit\u00e9s doivent faire partie int\u00e9grante de la solution, en combattant les pratiques et attitudes discriminatoires tout en mettant \u00e0 profit la sensibilit\u00e9 et l\u2019expertise des employ\u00e9s, des \u00e9tudiants et des facult\u00e9s. C\u2019est ainsi que se construira un monde plus pacifique et plus s\u00fbr, empreint de respect et d\u2019opportunit\u00e9s pour tous.<\/span><\/p>\n
